• I love their shitty front door - both knew they wouldn’t have a letterbox but it’s still a little baffling - the paint is peeling a little and mello took out the peephole and closed it up before they’d even set the toilet paper in the bathroom. They got a shitty welcome mat which the old tenants left probs says smthn like live laugh love or welcome to the jones house. It’s all sun bleached and pretty damn grey bc matt keeps accidentally ashing in the mat when smoking outside
• they get their first full-size bed with the intention of using it together
  • they’re looking at a massive bed at IKEA or something whispering to each other with sparkling eyes “that size” “think of the possibilities” “mhm” “so much room for activities” “yeah… comfort”
• ‘It’s perfect’ ‘It has carpet in the kitchen’ 'Like I said, perfect’
• Matt installing a phone in the toilet and constantly calling Mello from it. Mello refusing to answer Matt’s calls
• Buying it in the winter and finding out it becomes infested with ants every summer
• Mello becoming obsessed with having a nice garden, planting flowers and getting frustrated when they die. He doesn’t realise he’s overwatering them
• Matt painting rude messages on the wall and then covering them in wallpaper, for the next owners
• Looking at prices of appliances online and wondering if they really need a fridge
• 'Trash bags are how much?!’
• Both of them leaving crumbs on the counter and blaming the other, getting into a passive aggressive cleaning war. Mello puts the crumbs in Matt’s laptop keys
• Mello hearing retching in the kitchen before Matt slides around the door looking pale. They do need a fridge, milk can go off in a day apparently
• Like okay Matt farts pure noxious gas and sometimes forces mellos head under the covers and pins him there BUT he always brings mello a glass of water to put on his nightstand before going to sleep for the night
• It’s Halloween and they get trick or treaters to their door and it’s not a huge holiday in the uk they didn’t think to buy candy so mello gives them breath mints and a hdmi cable (After he dissuaded Matt from giving them a whole rotisserie chicken “it’s our dinner Matt”)
• Matt making sure Mello takes breaks when he’s working from home, handing him glasses of water and refusing to let him work until he drinks it. Mello grumbles about it but is always grateful when his encroaching headache disappears
• Mello, overworked, over stressed and crying in the kitchen at 3am because he dropped a spoon

1. Do you think they would still flat or do a house post canon - for some reason I’ve always seen mello picking up gardening in his later years as a calm hobby

Like I think Roger gave them all a task (keep this bonsai alive) and mello really likes doing it until he overwatered and got very upset over killing his delicate plant so decided to stop plants altogether

I think house is good it’s like they finally settled and had roots
