Chris and her met at a bar in 1989. He was 26, she was 19 but lied to him about her age. Told him she was 24. She was one of the few people who laughed about his jokes and they got it on that night. They dated for a while (it wasn’t even long, a couple of months maybe) when Grace got unexpectedly pregnant with Miles. They both didn’t take the relationship very seriously, they were both goofing around etc and the news about her being pregnant was a massive downer. They both tried to get their shit together for the baby etc etc, even got married and it looked like it was going okayish for a few years.
Until Miles got into kindergarden, primary school and his quirks/issues started to show. Miles wasn’t behaving well, he was being difficult, shouted, acted up, cried and cried and cried and Grace started to crumble because she could NOT handle him. Adding up to it all was Chris and his uncontrollable chaos, his unreliability. It was charming a few years ago but now it was suffocating for Grace. Chris wasn’t taking responsibility either - for nothing. Started to go out when things got difficult, didn’t want to deal with anything.
In her frustration, Grace said some hurtful things to Miles. She set the very foundation of his body issues calling him names she thought were endearing. Like idk “chunky boy” “little piglet” or some shit. Miles 100% overheard Chris and her talking about him nextdoor some nights when they thought he was sleeping. Overhearing things like “he’s a lost cause, Chris, just like you” “why can’t he be normal” “if I knew what I was getting myself into, OF COURSE I would have aborted”
Grace bailed on the two head over heels, having had enough. She wanted more out of life than… *this* (gesturing at Chris and Miles, which is so fucking rude). Miles was five at the time. She paid child support and called every other week that turned to months and the contact between her and the guys was always distanced and cold. Chris for sure dropped some vile words about her (he tried not to in front of Miles but some slipped) and Miles adopted them for her. I’m sure they bonded in some shared “we don’t need no mum >:(” attitude.
Grace wasn’t put in witness protection when L died, as she basically had no contact to neither Chris nor Miles at the time.
The first real contact Chris and Matt got with her was when Matt and Mello got married in 2018. Chris insisted to invite her, or at least to notify her. She married a dentist names James. His wife died a few years prior and he brought 2 kids into this marriage - girls Cindy and Emily. They live in London. The two girls are a bit older than Matt and Grace doesn’t miss a chance to brag about “how well behaved” they are. “So smart and athletic and popular” - shut the fuck up Grace, for Christs sake.
Mello hates her to his core.

He’s mourned his relationship w her long ago but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some weird jealousy when Ivanka was so so happy for Mello. He just wanted that too

So he’s hyper independent cause it’s not like Chris helps either. Grace is already leaving him home alone while she mingles with girlfriends getting drunk

- I think she has long beautiful hair that she only wears down, very slim (and she made Matt feel awful for being fat) Botox, fake lips, dresses up everywhere she goes, freckles but can’t see them as she covers w foundation, I think she’s brunette (I wanna say redhead but Matt would not dye his hair red if she did OR it’s a weird rebellion moment and mello is so proud)
I think she did have Matt’s nose prior to getting her nose done. I don’t think they look alike but he looks more like her pre surgeries
