Matt and Mello use the Christmas turmoil to sneak on a plane of an unofficial airport (probably Ramstein airport but they would have to have massive MASSIVE luck to not get discovered and shot) to the US. It’s a 10 hour flight to the east coast.

How They End Up At Los Angeles

Mello n Matt arrive in New York or some other airport on the east coast. Maybe they stay there for a day? They try to get to the west coast asap. By bus, train?, taxi, hitchhiking.

• New Years while hitchhiking!

• Early in LA they one time are at a summer frat bro pool party or something. No idea how they got there. Everybody is older than them and god do they feel cool. Drinking booze. Party ends for them when tipsy Mello starts throwing punches at douchebags making fun of Matt

• Mello fährt anfangs zwar mit Helm aber ohne Jacke auf seinem Motorrad rum und legt sich einmal richtig ab, richtig schön in so ein Schotterbeet. Und er hat sich den halben Arm aufgeschürft, kommt heim und Matt holt ihm den Schotter ausm Arm.

FAST FOOD Matt wears this vest in and out, day and night. He’s eating Shawarma and gets sauce on the vest and promptly licks it off this distgusting dirty old vest ugh. And Mello gives him the most disgusted look and goes “UGH DUUUDE we crawled though the sewers yesterday what the fuck?!” Matt doesn’t give shit, rubs the rest of the stain with the sleeve of his sweater. DISGUSTING.

• In their first months after arriving in Los Angeles, before motel-hopping or getting an apartment, Mello and Matt bathe in the ocean. No fun in january but it’s lovely in summer. Matt’s british basement dwelling skin surrenders at the shortest time in the californian sun. He gets sunburns every time he steps outside while Mello’s skin takes the sun like a champ after a short while. Maybe his mediterranian roots are to blame.

Mello and Matt arrive in San Fransisco or LA ect. Mello’s plan is to catch a ride on a Frachter to Japan. Blinde Passagiere und so. Matt caught something on the way, is hellishly sick and close to collapsing. They’re almost out of money, with the last remaining bucks they rent a room at a motel. Mello steals meds, water, food for Matt. It takes Matt about 2 weeks to be back on his feet. What do they do in the meantime? They can’t stay at the motel for long - no money. Mello goes scouting and finds a car park with abandoned cars? Maybe even a broken trailer? Will they live in a car for a couple weeks?

First one is their first ever mugshot - Matt is so terrified, I feel so sorry for him, he's probably running in his head how much of a disappointment he is in his dad's eyes now. No idea what they did tho…

• Matt scamt Leute mit seiner Schrottkarre. Der lässt sein Kackauto extra fies aufm Parkplatz stehen, so dass die Wahrscheinlichkeit sehr hoch ist, dass da einer ranfährt. Der hat auch die Stoßstange präpariert, der muss nur irgendwie hinter irgendne Abdeckung greifen, ne Schraube locker machen und das Ding fällt bei der leichtestens Berührung direkt ab. Mega dramatisch siehts aus, aber der kann dat Ding einfach wieder festzurren. Er sitzt im Diner, taktisch positioniert, und beobachtet, was draußen passiert und sobald einer dranfährt geht er raus “ACH SCHEIßE MEIN AUTO ALLA” und der Dude meint “Oh shit, wir brauchen keine Polizei, oder?? Hier haste 100 bucks für den Schaden” und Matt will schon annehmen, aber manchmal kommt Mello um die Ecke und meint “150 und das passt”. Und wenn der Typ anfängt zu diskutieren, holt Mello die dramatischen Geschichten raus a la; die sind normalerweise immer bei einem Stammmechaniker, der Pablo, der macht denen das immer fit für nen guten Preis, aber im Moment hat der Probleme, seine kleine Tochter ist krank, deswegen muss der bisschen aufschlagen - willst du wirklich, dass die Kleine stirbt?! “Natürlich nicht - aber ich hab nur 130…” “Ja das passt, gut danke, tschau” Mello ist aber auch so korrekt, dass er, wenn der Typ weg ist, Matt 100 in die Hand drückt, 30 für sich behält und meint “das ist dein Verdienst, das ist meiner”
• Matt klaut sich Elektrogeräte ausm Schrott während Mello Wache steht. Matt und Mello klauen sich regelmäßig Elektroschrott, den Matt dann daheim repariert. Das Zeug bei denen daheim ist unter aller sau, FUNKTIONIERT ABER. Matt holt auch regelmäßig private Informationen aus weggeworfenen Geräten raus, weil die Leute einfach nicht aufpassen und meinen, sobald das aufm Schrott landet, ists aus der Welt. Auf Matts Rechner befinden sich wahrscheinlich Kinderfotos vom Präsidenten und seiner Mutter oder so. Vielleicht sind sie SO! an Druckmittel gegen rivalisierende Mafia-Bosse gekommen??
• Mello bringt gelegentlich unaufgefordert Elektroschrott mit, den er am Straßenrand gefunden hat. “Guck mal, ich hab dir was mitgebracht. Ich weiß nicht, was das sein soll, aber kannst du damit was anfangen?” und Matt fallen fast die Augen ausm Kopf, weil Mello irgendeinen heißen Scheiß mitgebracht hat.
• Die hängen auch regelmäßig in irgendwelchen Containern, steigen über Zäune, geben sich Räuberleiter etc.. ”Mello, du hast längere Arme - greif da mal rein und hol mir spezifisches Bauteil xy” ”Bro, mit der Beschreibung kann ich nix anfangen, du ziehst das gefälligst selber raus. Pass auf: du hängst dich in den Container und ich halt dich an den Beinen fest, dann solltest du hoffenltich rankommen.”
• 2.0 They are VERY chill with eachother and have loose boundaries. Vor allem gegen Ende sind die as close as you can get without fucking. They have no problem with physical touch or being emotionally vulnerable with each other. Though they probably asked themselves multiple times if they’re gay for the other but the answer was always “no” and they both know this and are cool with it. But the bromance levels are over 9000. Generell, ich glaub, die lehnen sich viel an. Wenn die lange warten müssen und es sich echt nicht verhindern lässt oder so. Rücken an Rücken oder einer stellt die Beine hoch, der andere lehnt dran Sobald sie eine eigene Wohnung haben, stellen sie Regeln für die Zimmernutzung auf (falls es überhaupt mehr Zimmer als 2 gibt). Die haben bestimmt auch mal eine super unangenehme Konversation darüber, dass Matt BITTE ab und zu mal für ne Weile die Wohnung verlassen soll. Wenigstens ne halbe Stunde oder so. Privatsphäre, digga. ”Ohh you need some alone time with your right hand, I get it” “sigh I tried to be discreet here, but yeah. Piss off.” Matt duscht lange, wenn er denn mal duscht. Die hatten schon mehrfach Streit deswegen, weil Mello in der Zeit halt ab und zu auf Klo muss. Irgendwann meint Matt “Ei dann lass ich die Tür halt in Zukunft auf” “Dein Ernst?” “Wenn du musst, dann geh halt, mir doch egal” “gut, dann mach ich das.” “Jo mach” Und Mello setzt aber einmal SO EINEN Haufen ins Klo während Matt duscht haha Der nutzt das auch, um Matt zu ärgern - geht ins Bad, lässt übel einen fahren und macht die Tür wieder zu und man hört nur von drinnen “BAH SCHEIßE ALTER” haha “WAS HAST DU GEGESSEN ALTER”

Matt nimmt immer mal wieder Jobs an, je nach dem, was sich grade so anbietet. Als Entwickler, ITler, Verkäufer im Gamestop, Nachtwächter im Museum, was weiß denn ich.

PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

Die beiden spielen bestimmt mal für ne Weile den Privatermittler, wie Sherlock und John. Entweder wird denen dabei so scheiß langweilig, dass sies ganz schnell wieder lassen oder die machen das tatsächlich gelegentlich bis sie zur Mafia gehen. Vielleicht zieht Matt übers Deepweb Aufträge an Land (gabs das damals schon?).

Was macht ein Privatermittler so? Hauptsächlich Versicherungsbetrug aufdecken. Ganz selten mal kommen reiche Privatpersonen, die ihre Angehörigen beschatten lassen, aber die sind oft sehr psycho und unangenehm. So kommen sie vielleicht aber mit der Gangsterszene in Kontakt.

Oh shit, Mello hat auch den Skill wie SHerlock anhand eines ersten Blicks grobe Anhaltspunkte von Personen zu erkennen. Der bringt auch manchmal sowas wie “Afghanistan or Irak?” “??????” Ihm fehlt die Lebenserfahrung und Menschenkenntnis, um das so treffsicher und umfangreich wie Sherlock zu machen, aber die Grundzüge sind da. Daher kommt auch diese Annahme, dass Mello einfach “Sachen weiß, der muss ja richtig gut vorher recherchiert haben - wie lange beobachtet der mich schon…???”

Wie hat das angefangen? Über ne Zeitungsannonce?

Ich stell mir vor, dass die beiden inner Wohnung von einem Auftraggeber sind, und “sich mal umschauen”, so als ersten Überblick. Und die stehen da, irgendwie 10 Minuten lang murmelnd und die Infos gehen zwischen M und m hin und her, die reden irgendwas Kryptisches, bis sich Mello zum Auftraggeber umdreht meint

“… in welches Fitnessstudio geht Ihr Gärtner?” “Äh, ich hab gar nicht erwähnt, dass ich nen Gärtner hab… aber es ist Fitnessstudio XY…” “Ah ja, siehste?” “Dann muss Lösung die-und-die sein: —”

Die sind zwar absolut fantastische Problemlöser aber beide so dermaßen sozial inkompetent und unfreundlich, dass ihr Business echt nicht gut läuft. Die sind BEIDE Sherlock, was Sozialkompetenz angeht. Mello hat ne kurze Leine, ist ungeduldig und wird schnell beleidigend und Matt hat halt nach wie vor ein loses Mundwerk. Die beiden sind pures Chaos zusammen. Mello haut Matt bei so gut wie jedem Auftrag mehrfach in die Rippen oder tritt ihm auf den Fuß, weil er wieder irgendeinen Scheiß rausgehauen hat. Genauso deeskaliert Matt manchmal die Situation, wenn Mello wieder kurz davor ist, seine Waffe zu ziehen. Die geraten anfangs oft aneinander, weil sie sich vorher nicht gescheit abgesprochen haben etc.

“Matt, du musst wirklich einfach verdammt nochmal öfter deine scheiß Klappe halten, man!! Du überlässt das Reden in Zukunft mir, kapiert?!” ”Ach und du meinst, du kannst das besser, ja?? Du hast dem Typ eben fast den Hals rumgedreht - zügel mal dein fucking Temperament, Alter!! Ich weiß, du bist Südländer, aber das geht zu weit!”
